“Love is the only force capable of turning an enemy into a friend.” ~Martin Luther King, Jr.
Kindness is power.
Conflict receives its strength from rationalizing its motives. If conflict is stripped of its personal justifications, it loses all power.
Kindness is pure, so needs no justification, and therefore, is able to give freely of its power. In this giving, it not only strengthens itself, but lifts others.
If kindness is given freely, while seeking it in another, true progress is made for the benefit of all. It may be a trying task to find the kind spirit in another, when the other is defending themselves with conflict, yet it is there.
Once that kindness is focused on, the conflict is diffused, and true progress is made.
Anger is but a shield, while kindness lives deep in the heart. A shield can not defend itself from the power that is already within.
